What We Do and Why We Do It
Based in the Cleveland, Ohio area the 5th Independent Company of Ohio
Sharpshooters is a dedicated Civil War reenactment group Begining in 2006, a
few of us got together to bring a new light to the battlefield, thus the 5th Ind. Co
O.S.S were born. We are a family oriented group that is not just looking for
"another rifle" we welcome not just soldiers, but men, women, and children
civilians as well. We have good, clean, safe fun. We have been raised to speak
courteously to the ladies, and to tip our hats and say, "good day" The kids have a
good old time as well with kids battles, civil war period music and
rounders(baseball). We have a good time at the camp, keep a clean and organized
company street and perform with zeal on the field and in parades. we would love to
have all who are interested in this great hobby.
We are not out there to just "burn some powder" although it is very fun, we realize
we are there to honor the men, both blue and grey, and do so with pride and
dignity. We also uphold a strong list of parades, living history, cemetery
ceremonies, dedications ect. If this sounds like an ideal bunch, please don't
hesitate to contact us for more info, questions, comments, or concerns. Thanks
and enjoy the rest of the site.
